If you're looking for a versatile commercial vehicle that can be customized for a variety of business uses, the Ford Transit should be at the top of your list. The Transit has been the best-selling van in America for over 40 years, and for good reason. This workhorse of a van can be configured in multiple ways to suit your specific needs.
Cargo and Passenger Versions
The Ford Transit is available in multiple configurations, including:
- Cargo van
- Passenger wagon
- Cutaway
- Chassis cab
This allows you to choose the right Transit for hauling equipment, transporting passengers, or being customized with a specific body. The cargo van can swallow up to 487 cubic feet of cargo. The passenger wagon can seat up to 15 passengers. The cutaway and chassis cab versions allow the Transit to be fitted with customized bodies for specific commercial uses.
Roof Heights and Lengths
The Ford Transit also comes in three different roof heights - low, medium, and high. This allows you to maximize your cargo space or passenger room. The Transit is available in three different lengths - regular, long, and extended- for even more versatility. You can get the ideal balance of cargo capacity and ease of maneuverability for your needs.
Power and Performance
Under the hood, the Transit is powered by a 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine that delivers 310 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. This muscular engine provides brisk acceleration and a strong towing capacity of up to 7,500 pounds. The Transit feels nimble and car-like on the road, not lumbering like a traditional van.
Technology and Safety
Today's Transit comes standard with Ford Co-Pilot360, a suite of advanced driver assist technologies like Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking. Options include adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, and more. Inside, the Transit offers SYNC 3 infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
For over 40 years, the Ford Transit has built a reputation as an extremely versatile and customizable van. If you need a van that can be configured perfectly for your business, visit us at Taylor Ford of Manteno in Manteno, IL, to check out the innovative Ford Transit lineup.
